of the thirty-ninth evaluation of the prevention measures
against Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD)

The
thirty-ninth evaluation of the prevention measures against Foot and Mouth
Disease (FMD) according to the Circular Letter of Minister of Agriculture No.
TN.510/94/A/IV/2001 concerning prevention measures against FMD, and based on the
last weekly report of Office International des Epizooties (OIE) dated on 25
October 2002 it can be concluded that:
1.
FMD
infected countries
There is no country categorized as having outbreak of FMD.
2.
FMD endemic countries
| 2.1. |
Peru,
Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, Zimbabwe,
Botswana, Republic of Korea, Mongolia and the Palestinian Autonomous
Territories are still categorized as FMD endemic countries as stated
previously in the thirty-eighth evaluation;

|
To
those countries, a temporary import ban of certain products has to be
implemented as stated in the Circular Letter of the Minister of
Agriculture No. TN.510/94/A/IV/2001 dated 20 April 2001 point II B.

3.
FMD free countries
| 3.1. |
Austria,
Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Germany, Luxembourg, Sweden, Spain,
Greece, Portugal, the Netherlands, France, Rep. of Ireland and the United
Kingdom are still categorized as FMD free country as stated previously in
the thirty-eighth evaluation; |

To those
countries, importation of commodities could be allowed based on the
current technical requirements. |
