Concerning
Prevention Measures Against Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD)

  1. Based on weekly report of Office International des Epizooties (OIE) dated 9 November 2001, outbreak of foot and mouth disease (FMD) have been reported in Matebeland North Province, Zimbabwe.

  2. According to the Circular Letter of Minister of Agriculture No. TN.510/94/A/IV/2001 dated 20 April 2001 concerning the prevention measures against FMD, the importation of animals, animal products and other commodities as media of FMD virus from Zimbabwe into Indonesia is totally banned.  Type of commodities banned is listed below.

  3. The status of Zimbabwe will be evaluated periodically and whenever the outbreaks have been controlled as reported routinely by OIE, the total ban could be considered as temporary ban.
